About the Role: Reporting to: National Export & Trade Desk ManagerEmployment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeWork Location: South Wharf, Melbourne As an Export Trade Manager, you will collaborate with regional and local teams to set and achieve commercial targets, optimise booking flows, and align sales efforts with business objectives. Track performance, analyse market trends, refine sales strategies, and ensure compliance with quality management procedures. The role and responsibilities will include: Act as the key link between head office and the agency to develop short- and long-term sales strategies. Conduct weekly allocation reviews with the liner team and monthly reviews with sales teams to optimise booking flow and minimise performance risks. Manage allocation acceptance/Extra Space Review (ESR) for Freehand cargo to ensure bookings align with the plan. Conduct logistics checks on booking flow and coordinate with the Trade Desk manager to address equipment flow impacts. Conduct weekly reviews with Line, Cargo Flow, and Cargo Readiness to align on short- and medium-term action plans. Analyse market and client profiles daily, providing booking recommendations to commercial and line management. Provide weekly market insights to Sales Management and update Line on conditions for traffic light actions and dynamic pricing. To be successful in this role, you will need: Tertiary qualifications in a business discipline or equivalent experience Experience in the shipping industry preferred Commercial background in Sales, Business development and/or Customer Care Analytical skills. Comfortable with working with large data sets An understanding of both ‘macro’ and ‘micro’ business fundamentals Highly developed computer and spreadsheet skills include a high level of numeracy To apply for this role, you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.If you are a New Zealand citizen and planning to relocate permanently to Melbourne, Australia, you are more than welcome to apply.
