Job Description This role requires expertise in workshop and facility management, with responsibilities spanning the setup, operation, and oversight of vehicle prototype builds. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient workflow, safety compliance, and high-quality project execution. Key Responsibilities: Workshop & Facility Management: Manage the workshop and required tools, equipment, and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations and industry standards. Develop and continually refine workshop layout, workflow processes, and inventory systems. Manage procurement of tools, materials, and consumables. Implement quality control procedures and workshop best practices. Oversee workshop activities from assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of engineered products. Work with engineering teams to interpret designs, technical drawings, and specifications. Identify and solve challenges, working closely with design engineers. Ensure activities are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead on-site team and foster a positive can-do and safety culture. Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and quality. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and suppliers to meet project milestones. Supply Chain & Logistics: Manage inventory, ensuring availability of required parts and materials. Liaise with suppliers and logistics teams to track and expedite component deliveries. Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers. Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Monitor and improve build processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Implement lean manufacturing principles where possible. Provide regular progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders. Identify areas for cost savings and process improvements. Qualifications: Significant previous experience in workshop or facility management, preferably in automotive or industrial applications. Relevant trade qualification or engineering background in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing fields. Strong understanding of assembly processes, fabrication, and mechanical systems. Experience managing a small team and ensuring a safe working environment. Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
