Role Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field. It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs. The provision of business management responsibilities becomes a feature at range 3. Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility. Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases. This is the minimum range for positions that carry a mandatory qualification requirement of not less than four years. Professional student support positions become a feature at range 3 (e.g. therapists, psychologists) where standard professional services are delivered. Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position will be:Maintenance of a safe and well-presented environment - Identify, report, and where appropriate, action risks/hazards to eliminate or mitigate against the risk recurring.- Make safe any damage until repairs can be affected.- Maintenance of garden beds including pruning, mulching, weeding and replanting as required.- Clean-up of paths and outdoor areas of the school grounds.- Maintain plant and equipment required to fulfil the duties of the role.- Monitor and report on any security issues.Undertaking minor repairs and improvements - Regularly check maintenance tickets on school systems, address urgent jobs and record actions.- Organize and liaise with trades people or DOE staff to ensure repairs are undertaken in an efficient and timely manner.- Painting and graffiti removal.- Minor repairs of furniture, unblocking of toilets, basic repairs to doors, hinges, windows, taps, downpipes, fences, light fittings etc.Administrative Tasks - Preparation of report to the School Council Facilities and Environment Sub Committee and Safety Committee.- Maintain and manage AIMS and ensure the Rolling Facilities Evaluation tasks are adhered to.- Order and purchase goods and equipment as required.- Undertake induction of contractors and oversee their work when onsite.- Assist with maintenance inspections of school buildings and grounds.- Assist with the implementation of cyclical maintenance programs, including compliance and inspection items.Other duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
