Housing - Supported Residential Services | Launceston Are you ready to make a difference in the community? We are seeking a Facility Supervisor for a permanent, part-time (24 hours a fortnight) at the Youth2Independence program facility, Thyne House, based in Launceston. This role is a ‘live-in’ position which includes sleepovers and the successful applicant will be based on site for the duration of their shift. The role works 3 days (24 hours) a fortnight as follows: WEEK 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (arrive 9am Friday and finish 9am Monday) This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the community and support young Tasmanians in need. What you will be doing in this role: Undertaking maintenance functions; Maintaining grounds and gardens as well as undertaking minor maintenance, cleaning of communal areas, offices and vacated units; Provide limited on-call assistance to Students outside normal business hours to ensure the smooth running of the property including any emergencies that take place. You must have: Knowledge on the Housing Connect system including youth people’s pathways; Understanding of issues related to homelessness; Awareness of the current Tasmanian housing market and challenges faced by low-income individuals; Strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and occupational health and safety requirements or willingness to develop; A passion for working with young people; Strong written and oral communication skills. The successful applicant will be required to: Provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check; Present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (National Police Check) which is no older than 12 months; Provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16; Provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical; Provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence; Have a current First Aid certificate (training can be provided). On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
