Job Description

You will be part of a broader specialist team of allied professionals delivering high-quality services to individuals, families and children in family law, child protection, domestic and family violence and related areas including from our offices, at court and outreach locations. The work is challenging and complex but rewarding. Job details Position status: Permanent, Temporary Position type: Flexible full-time Occupational group: Psychology, Counselling & Social Work Classification: PO4 Workplace Location: Brisbane, Townsville, Rockhampton Are you an experienced social worker or psychologist? In this key role you will deliver independent clinical and forensic family assessments with a focus on family law and child protection jurisdictions. You will be part of a broader specialist team of allied professionals delivering high-quality services to individuals, families and children. A tertiary education qualification is required in either social work or psychology; social workers must be members, or eligible for membership, of the Australian Association of Social Workers, and psychologists must hold current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. What you will do: Conduct clinical and forensic assessments of families and children Prepare complex and comprehensive assessment reports for use in court proceedings in family law, child protection and related jurisdictions Provide expert opinion and evidence to the court, including being cross examined and challenged on your opinion About you: The successful candidate will have: Significant experience clinically assessing families and children. You prepare and present complex assessment reports in a clear, concise and articulate manner and can be cross examined in court Knowledge of legislation impacting families, with a focus on family law, domestic and family violence, child protection and related matters Knowledge of child development theory and the impacts of separation, domestic and family violence, abuse, high conflict and other risk factors on children and families What we can offer you: 36.25 hrs per week (full time hours) 12.75% employer super contributions Generous salary packaging available Study leave for approved work-related courses.
