Job Description

Position Purpose This position is part of MacKillop Family Services' Southern NSW program, within the Family Connect and Support (FCS) team. The FCS team provides high-quality services to vulnerable children, young people, and families, aimed at promoting safety and well-being through early intervention and prevention efforts. The role is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Southern NSW FCS program, ensuring the delivery of services that align with MacKillop’s therapeutic practice framework. As part of the Southern NSW leadership team, this position involves supervising and supporting a staff team of five, while collaborating with key local stakeholders to enhance service delivery and create integrated support pathways. This is a full-time 38 hours position (or part-time 0.8 negotiable) reporting to the Southern NSW OOHC Coordinator and can be located in Batemans Bay, Cooma, or Queanbeyan. Primary Objectives Manage the FCS program to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that promote safety and well-being outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and families. Lead a team focused on achieving positive outcomes, ensuring staff receive effective supervision, support, and development. Build strong local partnerships and stakeholder relationships to ensure an integrated service response, improved referral pathways, and interagency collaboration. Ensure services reflect MacKillop’s commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally safe practice frameworks. Maintain compliance with DCJ Service Program Specifications, Performance, Outcomes, and Accountability Frameworks. Key Responsibilities Lead a team to provide trauma-informed, culturally-safe services to families experiencing vulnerabilities. Coordinate intake and assessment processes to ensure comprehensive, strengths-based family assessments and timely responses. Ensure program targets and referral quotas for priority groups are met while maintaining budget compliance. Oversee caseloads and case allocation, ensuring a balanced workload based on staff expertise and capacity. Supervise staff practice, ensuring safe, inclusive family case planning and strengths-based interventions aligned with family empowerment, safety, and community engagement. Key Selection Criteria The incumbent will have: A tertiary qualification in management, social work, or a related field. Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise and guide a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating high-quality services that meet program specifications and client outcomes. Strong understanding of NSW's early intervention, prevention, and child protection systems, along with culturally safe, trauma-informed, child-centred practices.
