Family Violence Counsellor - Children and Young Persons Program (CYPP) (515206) Department of HealthCommunity, Mental Health & WellbeingCMHW - Tasmanian Health Services Applications must be submitted by Monday 10 February, 2025 11:55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement, Allied Health Professional, Level 1-2 Employment type: Part Time Region: North Location: Family Violence Service North The Department of Health is seeking interest for a fixed-term part-time Family Violence Counsellor to join the Children and Young Persons Program team in Northern Tasmania. The Role: Provide direct assistance to children and young people to recover from their experiences of family violence trauma through the delivery of evidence-based and family violence trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and support. Provide programs that incorporate multi-level assessments and interventions and address the needs of adults, children, and young people affected by family violence. Provision of information, support, referral, and advice in a range of ways to professionals, adults, children, and young people. Key Skills: Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and practice experience of family violence trauma and its impact on the developmental needs of children and young people. Demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic sessions to children and young people focused on family violence trauma stabilization/recovery who have complex needs. Work effectively with family members and other service providers in a complex care context. Ability to use professional judgement and initiative to assess complex dynamics of risk and safety assessments within a specialist family violence framework. The Team: Work as an effective member of a professional team in the provision of services to adults and children affected by family violence as part of the multidisciplinary Family Violence Service established through the Government’s Safe at Home initiative. Details of appointment: Fixed Term, day worker, working 30.60 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2025. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies. $73,834 to $111,364 per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
