Regular work hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm with 1 or 2 days working 11:30am to 7:30pm due to program session requirements. Windana provides connected services for more people in need. U-Turn is an early intervention, men’s behaviour change style program for male respondents on interim IVO’s where alcohol and other drugs (AOD) have been present. Facilitate early intervention Men’s Behaviour Change Program sessions, supporting participants to recognize and take responsibility for their use of violence, develop respectful relationship skills, and promote behaviour change while prioritizing the safety and well-being of affected family members. Facilitate the U-Turn and Online behaviour change programs, ensuring sessions are engaging, structured, and adhere to program objectives. Participate in session planning activities, group set-up and pack-up, participant sign-in, session debriefing. Conduct both in-person and virtual (via Zoom) group sessions as scheduled. Engage with participants and program staff before and after session regarding a range of issues such as absences and risk related issues. Assess court-referred participants to determine their eligibility for the U-Turn and Online programs, including evaluating readiness for behaviour change. Manage assessment booking times, client scheduling (including zoom meetings) and client reminders. Employ a range of motivational interventions with participant including providing direction to participants on program expectations. Identify risk factors or other needs during assessments and refer participants for additional support services as appropriate. Develop and maintain awareness of internal and external pathways for ineligible participants eg. other MBCPs and AOD treatment services. What we're looking for: A tertiary qualification in the discipline of Family Violence or Men's Behaviour change. Certificate IV in AOD or 4 AOD core competencies or willingness to undertake within 6 months of employment. Ability to apply a practice framework focused on engagement and assessment, with strong knowledge of the MARAM risk assessment framework. Experience in Men’s behaviour change group work. Strong understanding of: The gendered nature of family violence and its impact on women and children. Perpetrators’ patterns of coercive control and behaviours. The impact of family violence on children and the protective parent’s ability to safely parent. The interface between family violence services and systems like child protection.
