What’s my job? Located in our Melbourne office, we are looking for a Fashion Editor. In this role, you will shape Howatson+Company’s key client; Myer’s fashion storytelling across digital platforms, bringing creativity, cultural relevance, and strategic insight to the way we engage audiences. Reporting to the Head of Content Strategy, you’ll help define the voice of fashion at Myer, curating compelling content that resonates with both Australian and global audiences. With a deep understanding of fashion trends, digital platforms, and content creation - especially across Instagram and TikTok - you’ll be responsible for ideating, writing, and managing fashion-driven content that drives engagement, brand love, and business outcomes. A Day in the Life: Craft and Curate Fashion Stories Develop and write high-impact fashion content for Myer’s digital channels, ensuring every piece aligns with the brand’s tone, audience interests, and commercial goals. Create engaging social-first fashion content, from trend-driven copywriting to compelling TikTok scripts and Instagram captions. Identify emerging fashion trends—both locally and globally—and translate them into content opportunities that position Myer as an authoritative voice in fashion. Bring fresh, strategic ideas to the table—helping to shape Myer’s fashion content franchises and seasonal storytelling. Use your styling expertise (if applicable) to inform creative direction, product selections, and fashion shoot concepts. Lead Social-First Content Creation Take ownership of Myer’s fashion content across social media channels, ensuring it stays fresh, relevant, and ahead of trends. Ideate, produce, and publish engaging fashion content tailored to Instagram, TikTok, and other growing platforms. Actively participate in Myer’s social presence, conceptualising new ways to interact with audiences and build the brand’s digital community. Work closely with the content team to ensure fashion, beauty, home, and lifestyle stories feel cohesive across platforms. Strategic Execution & Performance Tracking Translate the overarching content strategy into actionable fashion content that strengthens Myer’s cultural relevance and business performance. Oversee the posting and scheduling of fashion content, ensuring seamless execution across digital channels. Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, social dashboards, performance metrics) to track content success and refine strategies accordingly. Experiment with new content formats—Shoppable, Live Shopping, BTS videos—to deepen engagement and drive conversions. Collaboration & Ideation Work closely with internal teams—including marketing, e-commerce, photography, and design—to align content with Myer’s wider campaigns. Collaborate with external creatives, from photographers to influencers, ensuring high-quality fashion storytelling. Bring fresh ideas to brainstorms, helping to craft innovative content plans that respond to cultural moments and audience needs. Contribute to integrated campaigns, working with the broader content team to ensure Myer’s fashion, beauty, home, and lifestyle narratives feel unified. Who are Howatson+Company?
