About the opportunity We are seeking enthusiastic Fauna Spotter Catchers or Wildlife Technicians to join our team. We are experiencing an exciting period of growth; both in SEQ and farther afield. You will support our Fauna Unit and work on a diverse range of projects across, encompassing both Fauna Spotter Catcher and Wildlife Technician responsibilities across South East Queensland - with occasional opportunities in Northern NSW and FIFO/away work. In this role you will: Follow the directions of the Fauna Unit Business Manager to ensure projects adhere to contracted timeframes and sequences Conduct field work involving fauna spotting, wildlife handling, restraint, and safe relocation Collect and record field data through GPS mapping, photography, and environmental observations Perform habitat assessments, monitor breeding sites, and develop effective wildlife management strategies Draft environmental reports and assist with project documentation Implement vertebrate pest management techniques, including trapping and, where required, safe use of firearms and euthanasia Liaise with clients, team members, and stakeholders to uphold high safety, ethical, and environmental standards About you To be successful in this role, you will have experience on sites with a high safety standard and encompass a great safety culture. The following skills and qualifications are desirable: Experience in wildlife management, including fauna spotting, handling, and/or vertebrate pest control A relevant qualification in wildlife management, conservation, land management, or a related field is highly regarded A solid background in identifying native flora and fauna and conducting field-based data collection Experience working on sites with high safety standards; possession of a White Card is essential, with Working at Heights/EWP qualifications considered an advantage Unrestricted Car Licence and access to own reliable transport 4WD training, Vertebrate pesticide training, AQF3 Chemical Accreditation and Firearms Licence (Cat.
