About the Role: In this pivotal role, you'll harness your leadership skills to guide a dedicated team in executing maintenance activities across our diverse fleet of CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi machinery. Your expertise will ensure operations run efficiently, meeting availability and reliability targets while staying within budget. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate strong safety leadership and foster a culture of high safety engagement across the site. Optimize resource allocation (people, equipment, and materials) to efficiently meet maintenance work targets and schedules, ensuring maximum productivity and minimal downtime. Set clear performance expectations for Maintenance personnel, providing regular feedback, coaching, and support to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Proactively track maintenance performance through supervisors and leading hands, swiftly addressing operational challenges and ensuring timely communication of critical issues. Continuously analyse plant performance (availability, breakdowns, and backlog), identifying trends and implementing proactive solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency. Champion compliance with Project Management Plans (PMP) by embedding best practices and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure subcontractor alignment with Integrated Management System (IMS) standards through regular oversight, collaboration, and performance assessments. Develop and oversee budgets with a strong focus on cost control, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings. Foster cross-functional collaboration with other Superintendents to align maintenance strategies with production goals, ensuring seamless plant operations and optimal output. About You: Trade qualification , complemented by further tertiary studies and extensive experience in managing mobile and fixed mining equipment maintenance. Proven safety leadership , with a strong commitment to fostering a positive safety culture and leading by example. Strong people management skills , with a track record of effectively developing, mentoring, and leading teams. Excellent organizational, communication, and planning abilities , ensuring efficient coordination of maintenance operations. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine. Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and-shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
