This is your invitation to rise above the possible.INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE Performing and coordinating service activities relating to machines, spares and wears, and providing customers with technical services in conjunction with our sales team.TEAM YOU WILL BELONG TO You will join a team of high achieving Service Technicians dedicated to providing technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel. This team mobilizes collectively and autonomously based on the needs of our customer sites and the ability to do site-based work is essential. The variety of works offered due to this provides exceptional opportunities for career and skill set growth.What You'll Do Provide technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel. Perform technical evaluations and analyse new and existing equipment and machine component failures, and apply them in the testing and implementation of engineering projects. Provide hands-on mechanical service work in the field to Metso customers. Supervise and oversee Field Service projects on customer sites. Complete field machine inspections per global and customer procedures. Escalate questions and analysis to Technical Support and Engineering. Prepare post site reports, time sheets and expenses after site visits. Support quotation work by providing scope of work, initial planning and costing information. Promote Technical Support value add and support Technical Support Teams. Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable. Promote the sales of OEM spare parts and wears material components. Identify equipment in the field at the customer site that is not in our installed base and provide data for input into our CRM system. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL NEED A Mechanical trade qualification from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the Mining industries working with Grinding Mills, and ideally Flotation and Thickeners. Basic computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel. Must have current motor vehicle license. Must be able to pass random medical and drug tests. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics. Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
