We provide staff and equipment to the minerals industry in both Mines and Exploration as well as managing programs and projects for several clients. We are seeking an experienced senior field technician or field manager who is looking for a new challenge and a more Perth based role. You will be working in a tight team in the Perth Office performing a variety of roles as required at the time. The role is a full time position with a nominal 38-hour week, with flexible work hours wherever possible between 7am and 6pm Mon - Fri. Some field work may be required and there will be a need for contact out of normal work hours if there are issues in the field. The major responsibilities will include: Field Crew Support Pre-campaign planning and preparation to ensure crews have what is needed to ensure a safe and successful job. Field crew movement planning and liaison with clients on rosters and staffing levels. Logistics, travel and accommodation planning and booking. Ordering of consumables and organising freight if necessary. Safety program supervision and preparation of key documents or support of senior field staff in preparing the documents. Sample processing and storage in our sheds. Equipment Maintenance of our vehicle fleet and other equipment with servicing and repair scheduling, replacement or replenishment. Ensuring Vehicles and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and checked in and issues addressed. Ensuring all gear and equipment is returned to base at the end of a job. Human Resources Recruitment of extra staff when required and maintenance of a database of available staff. Organising of staff for upcoming work and scheduling of their availability. Supervision and follow up on junior staff performance and issues as they arise. Monitoring of staff morale and fatigue levels and ensuring sufficient breaks are scheduled. Client Relationships Fielding enquiries on jobs. Preparing quotes and budgets for work. Contacting clients to check on their satisfaction with the work completed. Ensuring Clients are informed of progress on a job and any emergent issues that may affect the planned progress on a job. Safety Officer Ensuring through our Safety management system that all safety requirements are complied with for a job. Monitoring of Safety systems to ensure they are kept up to date. Site supervision and Site specific induction preparations where necessary. Emergency response – as Field manager you will be the first contact in an emergency and need to organise appropriate response based on the situation. Checking Clients are providing safe working environments and assisting with their Safety needs. Evaluating contractors Safety systems.
