Job Description

Finance Assistant Nambucca Valley Christian Community School (NVCCS) is a thriving K-12 Christian school situated on the Mid North Coast of NSW. We are seeking a suitably skilled Finance Assistant to join our team. The successful applicant will work as part of the finance team, to actively support the Christian vision, ethos and policies of the School. The Finance Assistant will support the Business Manager through the performance of tasks that contribute to the efficient and functional day-to-day financial operations of the School. This is an ongoing, part-time position, three days per week (0.6 FTE), 43 weeks per year, as negotiated with the successful applicant. Key Responsibilities: Manage monthly accruals and adjustments Preparation of monthly reports Input of financial information into accounting software Analysis of monthly expenditure against budgets Maintain the fixed assets register Review creditors Assist with audit preparation Assist with the development of procedures and internal controls Essential Criteria: A demonstrated commitment to Christ, able to subscribe to Nambucca Valley Christian Community School’s Statement of Faith (available on the website) Work cooperatively in a team, as well as autonomously Prioritise and complete set tasks in a timely and organised manner Attention to detail and ability to problem solve Proficient computer, written and oral communication skills including Microsoft Office Other financial or administrative duties related to the role as required Desirable Criteria: Experience with Xero or other accounting software Experience working in an education environment Qualification or certification in bookkeeping or accounting For further enquiries please contact the Business Manager, Chris Grassick on 6568 9311.
