Finance Officer Commencement Date: Monday 19th May 2025Employment Type: Term time, fixed term contract until 29 May 2026 (Parental Leave Cover) 18 hours per weekSalary Range: School Officer Level 4 - $35.90 - $37.03 Gross per hour plus 12.75% superannuationClosing Date for Applications: 7am, Thursday 20th March 2025St Therese's School, Bentley Park St Therese's Parish School is an integral part of the Cairns Diocese and the Edmonton Parish. Located just 20 minutes south of Cairns City, St Therese's provides Catholic Education to an area that is currently referred to as the 'growth corridor' of Cairns. Today, it has an enrolment of approximately 620 students, Prep to Year 6, and is proud of its rich historical story as well as the modern facilities available to students, enabling a holistic and quality educational learning environment.About The Role Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to: Assist with processing financial transactions using computerised accounting software. Daily Receipting Journals – EFT/Cash & Cheques. Receipt payments made to all bank accounts – BPay/Direct Debit/Operating Accounts. Be responsible for effective cash handling and assist with processing banking for all cash and cheques received. Respond to queries from internal and external parties. Reconcile and code invoices to vendor statements. Assist with Centrelink Lookups. Assist with processing of invoices, allocation of costing to appropriate ledger account. Assist school staff with purchasing and finance related queries and tasks as required. General administrative duties as required. Assist with EOY filing & archiving. Ensure financial resources/paperwork is maintained at the school as required (e.g., forms for office). Relieve in Administration Officer positions as required including reception and student services. Maintain appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
