Type: Full Time Location: Randwick NSW Remuneration: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (Level 4) + full salary packaging options available About Us: Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in 1970 by the Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, and renamed in 1992 to honour his life’s work. Ted Noffs Foundation services are focused on helping young people with drug, crime and mental health issues and have achieved significant success. We run services across NSW, ACT and QLD with over 160 staff and nearly 300 volunteers committed to helping disadvantaged young Australians. The Role: This dual-role position offers variety and the opportunity to contribute to our financial operations and payroll processes. The Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely management of the Ted Noffs Foundation’s payroll as well as overseeing the accounts payable function. This includes understanding and applying the Award to payments, processing invoices into the finance system and managing bank transactions. The role also involves providing general clerical and accounting support as needed within the Finance and Operations team. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: Payroll End-to-end payroll processing for 160 employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Interpreting and applying the SCHADS award to accurately calculate wages, penalties, and entitlements. Managing timesheets, leave requests, and adjustments with precision and efficiency. Utilising Employment Hero, Trello and Xero to process payroll and maintain employee records. Ensuring timely payment of superannuation, taxes, salary packaging and other statutory obligations. Addressing employee queries regarding payroll and entitlements in a professional and timely manner. Balancing and reconciling payroll to bank accounts and the general ledger, including entering payroll journals each pay period and accruing pay at the end of the month for any missing days. Working collaboratively with the Human Resources team, Unit Managers and staff at all levels of the organisation. Management reporting as required. Accounts Payable Entering invoices into the finance system and bank for checking and payment by the Senior Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Distributing invoices to unit managers for items purchased locally by teams for entry into the financial system. Checking that petty cash receipts have been submitted into Xero by unit managers and that they reconcile, including GST entries. Checking that unit managers are entering locally raised invoices accurately. Qualifications: Experience in payroll and accounts payable systems (knowledge of Employment Hero preferred but not essential). Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and GST requirements. Highly numerate with experience in Award (SCHADS) to Payroll interpretation. Experience of using a financial system (knowledge of Xero preferred but not essential). Ability to work to strict deadlines and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail. Working knowledge of general accounting concepts. Ability to work and liaise with staff and managers at all levels of the organisation. Must acquire and maintain a cleared NSW Working With Children Check. Experience within a NFP organisation.
