We are seeking a Finance / Office Manager based in Darwin to provide direct support to the Managing Director over a broad range of tasks in a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be motivated to continuous quality improvement and refining internal processes across the group. About the Role The Financial/Office Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations, including the developing of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis with a hands-on approach. The Finance/Office Manager supervises and mentors the admin team, manages cash flow and liaises with clients/suppliers. Additionally, they provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to optimize performance, cost control, and profitability. Driving improvements to current internal controls, systems, and processes will be a key part of the role. The role will include: Provide a high level of assistance to the Managing Director in a multitude of tasks. Daily job and costing review to ensure invoicing is completed weekly. HR and payroll and comprehensive understanding of Fair Work and Awards compliance. Monitor and manage cash flow, debtors and creditor accounts, expenses, budgets, invoicing, and purchase orders. Project management and identifying process weaknesses and implementing change and process improvement. Conduct reviews and ensure payments are made and received on time, and to the agreed rates. Support the wider business on complex financial issues and provide advice and recommendations as matters arise. Preparation of BAS, payroll tax returns and monthly reconciliations. Provide administration support to the operations team and field technicians. Assist with asset acquisitions, fleet management, and all business insurances. Management accounting reports in a timely manner and preparation of financial reports for tenders and contract applications. Manage a small administration team and provide admin relief when team members are on leave. Preparation of end of year financial accounts for external accountant review. Your qualities and skills Knowledge of business and management principles and practices demonstrated by experience in a similar role. Previous experience in a small to medium business. Advanced bookkeeping skills essential. Tertiary qualifications in accounting or business administration preferred. Advanced skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt and use a range of software. High attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, and excellent communication skills. Experience with MYOB and simPRO highly regarded. Adaptable in a varied role that may be subjected to change. The ability to coordinate multiple administration tasks/processes with tight deadlines and limited supervision. #J-18808-Ljbffr
