This is a high-impact financial accountant role with exposure to senior leadership. Role Overview Reporting into the Finance Manager, this Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of financial reporting and analysis. On a monthly basis, you will prepare all month-end activities including journal entries, prepayments and accruals as well as prepare the balance sheet reconciliation and provide commentary and analysis on key monthly results. You will maintain the transactional integrity as well as provide detailed reporting on key metrics, review the payroll, prepare commission payments and complete statutory obligations. Prepare consolidated reporting for both the Australian and US entities as well as investigate and provide detailed variance analysis to support senior leadership in having a comprehensive view of the company's financial position. This role is highly visible and dynamic, allowing for both your experience in financial control and your understanding of a commercial environment to shine. Responsibilities Execute the organisation's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business goals. Ensure the integrity of monthly results through hands-on ownership of the month-end process, with timely and accurate completion of journals, accruals, and reconciliations. Prepare all statutory reporting including BAS, Income Tax return, Payroll tax and FBT. Demonstrate understanding of the SaaS subscription revenue model, deferred revenue accounting and SaaS KPIs. Maintenance & reconciliation of the Fixed Assets Register. Investigate and take action with any anomalies found in key reconciliations. Prepare and process monthly commissions. Prepare monthly and annual close binders, consolidated accounts and KPI reports along with commentary. Assist with reporting for investors, board and lenders. Manage relationships with suppliers and customers including resolving disputes and queries in a timely manner and work closely with Account Management team. Managing timely employee expense reimbursements. Accountable for delivery of accurate and timely AU & US Payroll working closely with external firm. Assist with the annual budgeting process. Assist with system implementations. Assist with preparing the cashflow forecast and updating three-way model. Candidate Profile You are highly energetic and wish to be in a critical role driving performance for a business. You are Accounting qualified (CA or CPA essential) and have a strong understanding and ownership experience of a complex P&L. Ideally coming out of a SaaS organisation you will have exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
