We currently have a fixed term, full time (12-month parental leave cover) opportunity for a Financial Accountant – External Reporting working in our professional and highly engaged finance department. This role will be based in our Collingwood Head Office and will report to the Finance Manager – Financial Governance & Reporting. This role will support the external reporting requirements of Finance. These requirements will be designed to ensure that Bank Australia is compliant with the regulatory requirements of APRA and other regulators and reporting to other key stakeholders. These requirements will also involve project work given the large number of upcoming regulatory changes. What you will be doing Preparing accurate and timely regulatory reports for submission to APRA and other Bank stakeholders, including validation and control over underlying data and analytical review of reports, relating to Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements Liaise with Financial Reporting, Business Performance and Treasury teams to validate the completeness and accuracy of regulatory reporting submissions Contribute to the regulatory reporting working group to continually improve the controls, features and benefits of regulatory reporting systems Support both the internal and external audit engagements on all compliance, internal control and accounting matters related to regulatory reporting Assist in preparation of the annual attestation of regulatory reporting obligations, compliance plans and updating of regulatory reporting related control registers Preparing Bank Australia’s financial statements and reports and attesting their compliance with accounting standards and the provision of a true and fair view of Bank Australia’s financial position and performance Providing accounting services to Buloke Funding Trust No.1 and any other entity established by the Bank Preparing the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) annual scorecard Preparing all reporting obligations to other external bodies, such as ABS, CUFSS and the Southern Chairs Forum Support the Bank’s adoption of sustainability standards. What you will bring Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting, economics or other relevant area Solid experience in an APRA regulated bank which should include experience in financial and regulatory reporting An understanding of accounting and prudential standards, policies and guides Understanding of business process, control and best practice Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel & PowerPoint) Independent and a highly motivated attitude Skills in implementing high quality business process improvements Exposure to other functions in banking (e.g. risk, information technology, accounting, and relationship management) would be an advantage Commitment to Bank Australia’s purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos.
