About the Team and Role Sydney Airport’s Aviation Growth and Group Strategy team (AGGS) plays a critical role in driving the Airport’s commercial success, focusing on revenue generation and strategic innovation. As the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager for AGGS, you’ll be at the center of these efforts, providing the financial insights and leadership needed to support business growth and deliver exceptional results. Reporting to the Head of FP&A, you’ll lead a team of five skilled Senior Financial Analysts, partnering with the Aviation Growth and Group Strategy division to deliver high-quality financial analysis and strategic recommendations. This team works closely with senior stakeholders to develop business cases, support decision-making, and identify opportunities to enhance profitability and optimize investments. This role is perfect for an experienced leader and expert modeller who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering meaningful outcomes. In this role you will have the opportunity to: Partner with senior leaders to create robust business cases for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and targets. Develop and maintain complex financial models that support revenue forecasting, EBITDA projections, and investment analysis. Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organisational goals. Conduct detailed commercial analyses to identify and evaluate revenue-generating opportunities, assess risks, and recommend actionable strategies. Lead scenario planning and financial simulations to guide critical decision-making at the executive level. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and optimise the financial performance of key business activities. Present financial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions through clear and compelling communication. Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within your team by mentoring and empowering team members to deliver impactful results. About you Strong leadership and mentoring experience within a high-performance environment. Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis with a strong focus on revenue generation and commercial decision-making. Proven business partnering experience with a natural ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex financial insights in a clear and compelling manner. Expertise in business casing, creating and maintaining complex financial modelling, and investment analysis, with a track record of driving profitable outcomes. Advanced analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies that support organisational goals. Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with advanced Excel capabilities. A proactive and strategic mindset, with a focus on identifying opportunities for growth and operational improvement. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with CPA or equivalent certification.
