About the role: The Financial Planning and Investment Analyst is responsible for implementing and overseeing the investment governance framework, evaluating large capital investment programs and customer connection projects, and driving efficiency while mitigating risk through continuous process and system improvements. Additionally, the incumbent will support the annual budgeting process, particularly in consolidating budgets and plans at the group level. What you’ll deliver: Own and continually improve the capital investment governance framework for VPN and UE. Develop and control templates and standards for key deliverables e.g. business cases and economic assessments. Act as the Investment Committee secretary, partner with the business to drive high quality business cases and ensure clear messaging of investment proposals. Test and review investment models to validate business decisions, identify their value, challenge assumptions and economic appraisals including risk assessment, benefits, cash flows, cost build up and timing. Collaborate with planning analysts from other entities within the group to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent budget consolidation. Manage a group-wide budget consolidation model for both the annual budget and long-term planning. To succeed in the role, you’ll have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, commerce (or equivalent) 2+ years of experience in a finance/governance/project management role involving financial analysis. Advanced skills in Excel to navigate complex financial models, and in PowerPoint to present to stakeholders. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
