About the role: We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Fire Services Engineer. This role will suit someone who is technically excellent and looking to embark on the next phase of professional growth. Please note, we are not looking for a graduate or junior. You will join our great team and report to the Associate Fire and Hydraulics, working in a hybrid arrangement from our modern Sydney CBD office. Not only will you be part of a great team, but you will also have contact with and work alongside our Associates and Directors who are committed to the development of our people. What you'll do: Provide premium client service and consultancy for the fire services discipline by liaising with the client, architect, builder, sub-contractors and other services disciplines to ensure a thorough brief and a coordinated design that delivers on the client’s objectives within budget and on time. Within the Hydraulic and Fire Services Team, you will provide fire services expertise and advice to our clients through the entire project life cycle, as you deliver well-coordinated, client centric and technical solution(s). What you'll need: Understanding of construction industry project phases and delivery methods. Understanding of fire services construction processes and be capable of reporting on defects identified on site and commissioning of systems witnessed. Understanding of relevant Standards Building Codes for your discipline and region. Workplace Health and Safety legislation on construction sites. Simply and effectively communicating information of a complex and technical nature to all stakeholders. Establishing and maintaining effective and long-term relationships internally and externally. Able to manage effectively through ambiguous situations and can confidently work with a diverse and varied stakeholder group and seek guidance where required. Thrives when working independently and has a naturally accountable nature, balanced with a desire to work collaboratively with a passionate and highly effective team. Actively seeks out feedback from all sources including clients, partners and from within the organisation and effectively implements changes to ensure personal and professional growth. Although an expert in fire services you are willing and able to pitch in and assist across other disciplines especially hydraulics should the need arise. Experience in commercial and/or workplace fitout (desirable). Experience and Qualifications you’ll need: Minimum of 4 years of recent fire services engineering experience with a preference for exposure to the Commercial Workplace fit out sector. Problem solving skills and ethical judgement. Practiced in designing fire services and verifying system requirements, including: Design of new and/or modifications to existing automatic fire sprinkler systems, emergency warning and intercom systems, fire detection, extinguishers, hydrant and hose reel systems. Equipment selections. Proficient in Bluebeam to produce markups, concept designs and sketches.
