Your opportunity As a First Nations Partnerships Specialist, you’ll be reporting to the First Nations Program Manager and will be responsible for the strategic management and oversight of relationships with First Nations Stakeholders at a State and Regional Level. Here’s how you’ll do it: Forge new partnerships and strengthen existing ones with key First Nations Stakeholders to support Hearing Australia’s commitment to improving ear health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Actively contribute to First Nations reporting, data collection, checking, and collation at a State level. Work closely with State Clinical Operations Managers on the development and implementation of the Shared Hearing Services Plans and service level agreements (SLA’s). Provide cultural advice to hearing centres and support the delivery of cultural competency training as required. Attend regular meetings with State Operations Manager and other team managers. Take reasonable care that your actions or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons. What you’ll bring We believe the successful candidate will have an ability to communicate effectively and build and maintain constructive and respectful partnerships with First Nation peoples and stakeholder groups. You’ll bring: This is an identified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island position. This position is for a person who is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and who is accepted by their community as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. A Certificate IV or higher in health, leadership, community services and/or management and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role. Current Working with Children Check (or ability/willingness to obtain). Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite. Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
