Job Description

Fixed Term 0.9FTE Staff Specialist - Maternal Fetal Medicine - Westmead Hospital | APPLY VIA E-CREDENTIAL Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The position will be located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine. The successful applicant will be an O&G consultant with demonstrated experience in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Fellowship or working towards the fellowship of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (RANZCOG). Subspecialty accreditation or working towards subspecialty accreditation in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, RANZCOG, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in a tertiary environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Specialist IMGs who are partially/substantially comparable to Australian trained specialists are eligible to apply. Selection Criteria Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Demonstrate skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner including: High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate ability working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice. Demonstrate commitment to teaching and supervision. Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge, expertise, and management ability in the provision of a patient-focused comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective clinical service within the clinical specialty of Maternal Fetal Medicine. Evidence of Continuing Medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice requirements of the position. Demonstrate leadership and experience in teaching and training junior members of the team with the view to spearhead this portfolio in our service. Demonstrate ability to actively conduct or contribute to research in an area of special interest, supervise postgraduate research students, supervise, and coordinate the work and training of undergraduates and postgraduates within the hospital. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice with demonstrated commitment to basic, applied, and clinical research, medical education, and staff training and supervision. Candidates with administrative leadership experience are preferred.
