Position Overview: The Fleet Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of Atrium Home Services’ vehicle fleet. This includes managing vehicle procurement, maintenance, safety, cost structure, vendor relationships, and reporting. You will work directly with field teams to ensure vehicle availability, reliability, and compliance with company safety standards, playing a critical role in the company’s operational success. Key Responsibilities: Vehicle Procurement and Disposition: Establish standard vehicle specifications in collaboration with field teams. Oversee pre-delivery vehicle preparations including graphics, shelving, telematics, and other modifications. Manage the tracking and maintenance of fleet assets using Fleet Management tools/software. Coordinate vehicle sales, dispositions, and ensure vehicles are properly equipped and registered. Oversee decommissioning and disposal of out-of-service vehicles. Asset Reliability and Maintenance Management: Manage repair and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe, operational, and in optimal condition. Develop and enforce maintenance standards to maximize vehicle uptime and reliability. Evaluate and recommend technologies to reduce costs and improve fleet safety and efficiency. Report on overdue maintenance and ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner. Collaborate with fleet partners to manage vehicle repairs, replacements, and significant fleet needs. Cost Management: Contribute to vehicle expense planning and capital expenditures. Analyze fleet performance reports, including maintenance costs, fuel consumption, and other key metrics. Identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement in fleet operations. Asset Strategy and Vendor Management: Recommend strategies for vehicle availability, including planning for vehicle replacements and spare/rental assets. Coordinate with external vendors (fuel providers, repair shops) to ensure timely and cost-effective services. Negotiate vendor contracts, ensuring high-quality service, adherence to specifications, and cost savings. Work with Fuel Card providers and site personnel to ensure proper controls and processes are in place. Safety: Partner with the training department to develop and implement driver safety and training programs. Support driver qualification processes, including MVR checks and insurance eligibility. Manage accident and incident reporting procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies. Mentor and coach field teams on safety protocols and best practices to reduce risks and improve driving behavior. Implement safety initiatives that promote safe driving practices and reduce accidents. Compliance: Ensure all vehicles and operations comply with CMV/FMCSA regulations and business license requirements. Work with HR to ensure that DOT Medical Certifications are tracked and renewed on time. Maintain accurate vehicle registration and title documentation, ensuring timely renewals. Implement best practices for recordkeeping and reporting for all fleet assets. What does it take? Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of relevant technical certifications and experience. 3-5 years of experience in Fleet Management or Asset Management. Proven experience managing a large fleet (500+ vehicles). Proficiency with fleet/inventory management software and tools. Experience managing vendor relationships, especially with companies like Wex, Fuelman, Geotab, or Merchant’s Fleet. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with financial and operational data. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to assess and manage vehicle repair needs and implement fleet safety requirements. Ability to hold vendors and partners accountable for performance and cost management. Willingness to travel 60% of the time across Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Missouri. Why Atrium? Competitive Salary!
