The Gardens and Grounds Worker is supervised and supported by the Senior Grounds Person on a daily basis. Responsibilities: Ensure all garden beds are weeded, dead plants are disposed of, and rubbish is removed. Apply fertilizer when required and prune shrubs and plants with precision. Regularly clean leaves, grass, and debris from paths, walkways, car parks, and gutters. Assist with the daily watering program. Ensure verandahs and paved areas are clean and well maintained. Perform whipper snipping and rough cutting as required. Clean all grounds buggies and machinery regularly and report any faults to the Senior Grounds Person. Prepare and mark ovals and grounds for sporting activities. Assist with landscaping of school grounds. Precision mow all ovals and grassed areas, ensuring no grass clippings are left on pathways. Set up and clear away for special school functions, moving furniture and equipment as required. Assist with herbicide, pesticide, fertilizer, and wetta-soil application. Assist with project work to improve the grounds. Assist with the opening of the Primary and Secondary campuses. Assist with traffic control from 3.00pm each day or as requested at other times.
