Job Description The Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in shaping the company's technical direction and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering programs. Key responsibilities include:Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Provide strategic direction and performance management across Design Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering functions. Drive team capability development through coaching, training, and individual development plans. Technical Strategy & Product Development Define and manage the company's 'Technical Roadmap' in collaboration with Business Development to maintain a superior product portfolio. Oversee the design, development, and validation of components and products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market demands. Maintain oversight of technical specifications and functional performance requirements to ensure quality and reliability. Lead the development and implementation of engineering processes that align with AS9100 and AS9145 standards. Provide guidance on technical issue resolution, ensuring timely and effective problem-solving across all product lifecycles. Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including knowledge capture and transfer initiatives. Program & Risk Management Ensure engineering programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer specifications. Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate technical and operational challenges. Business Development & Customer Engagement Serve as the primary technical interface for key customers, providing expert consultation and ensuring alignment with their needs. Support new business proposals, including technical assessments, scope definition, and resource planning. Strengthen customer relationships by driving innovation and providing tailored technical solutions. Quality & Compliance Maintain compliance with all relevant industry standards and certifications. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and reliability. The Successful Applicant The ideal candidate is a highly experienced engineering leader with a proven track record of driving innovation, technical excellence, and operational efficiency in complex engineering environments. They will possess:Technical & Industry Expertise A strong background in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering, with extensive experience in the design and development of high-performance propulsion systems or related technologies. Deep knowledge of engine design, fuel injection systems, and advanced engineering methodologies, particularly for air-cooled and water-cooled 2-stroke engines. A strategic mindset with the ability to align engineering initiatives with business growth objectives. Leadership & Communication Skills Exceptional leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing technical teams. Strong ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate across all levels of an organization, from engineering teams to executive leadership and external stakeholders. Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering a high-performance culture. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making A results-driven approach with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make sound technical and business decisions. A high level of adaptability, capable of navigating complex challenges and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
