The Retreat experience creates a unique real West Australian Outback adventure for domestic and international tourists alike. Providing an authentic outback experience, with a focus on the Retreat indigenous culture, days are spent exploring the rugged landscapes and amazing gorges, with comfy beds and locally inspired cuisine at the Retreat’s a la Carte restaurant to return to at the end of the day! The Retreat consists of 53 safari-style eco tents, a licensed restaurant, bar, and kiosk. General camping facilities and Eco Cabins are also available within the retreat grounds. The Position Karijini Eco Retreat is seeking applications for an experienced GM with a proven background in hospitality operations and systems, including compliance and reporting, to oversee the daily operations of the Eco Retreat. The role will ensure that financial and strategic goals are met and key performance indicators are achieved, with a particular focus on environmental and cultural components. A customer service focus is essential to lead the day-to-day operations of the property. Living within the Perth Metro region, working in the Cottesloe based Head office, with regular travel to the Retreat required (flexible timing). This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced GM to join a supportive and dynamic business. Employed by the Retreat's management company, this position reports directly to and alongside the Perth based CEO. The Successful Candidate This role is very hands-on and requires a leader to develop and manage a cohesive team while ensuring the Retreat's indigenous culture is authentically represented. Building a strong rapport with the local community, tourists, and corporate guests is a must. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Successful recent experience in managing multiple departments in a General Manager role, including F&B. Strong systems knowledge, including PMS and F&B. Financial competency including managing and reporting of monthly department P&L's and rostering to meet budget labour targets. Ability to prepare annual financial plans and operating budgets for the property. Indigenous cultural awareness and experience/training. Experience in recruitment and training staff to create a cohesive and productive team. Creating strategies to improve productivity and efficiency. Ability to nurture key client relationships and develop new business. Awareness and application of OHS systems. Hold a WA Approved Manager liquor licence. Senior First Aid certification (current). Hold a valid Australian Driver's licence. Love of the outdoors. A competitive salary package including accommodation will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
