General Manager Operations and Community - Mallee CMA 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Lead the delivery of natural resource management projects Deliver tangible outcomes for the environment and community Progress your career and live and work in beautiful Mildura The Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) manages natural resources in northwest Victoria's Mallee region, focusing on sustainable land and water use, biodiversity conservation, and environmental restoration. It collaborates with landholders, Indigenous groups, and local communities to address issues like salinity, erosion, and habitat loss, while promoting resilience to climate change. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the General Manager Operations and Community leads the delivery of complex natural resource management projects in Victoria's Mallee region. This role oversees a multi-disciplinary team to implement programs in areas such as salinity, irrigation, environmental water, waterways, floodplain management, and community engagement. It plays a key role in integrating Basin Plan environmental infrastructure projects into Mallee CMA operations, ensuring readiness for operational control. The position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on investments, influencing future research and programs aligned with community, traditional owner values, and government policy. This role will balance the needs of complex stakeholder groups, ensuring community-centric natural resource management aligns with the Mallee CMA's corporate objectives. To be considered for this role, you bring experience leading teams to deliver community or environmental outcomes. You have experience in managing a range of projects and contracts, including managing budgets and staff performance standards that enable the successful achievement of the organisation's objectives. You will have excellent communication skills and can liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You are able to remain focused and thrive amid challenging circumstances, due to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and short deadlines that the role entails.
