This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Executive Leadership Team of Cancer Council SA as their General Manager People, Safety & Culture.Role Overview Reporting to the Chief Executive, the General Manager People, Safety & Culture is responsible for providing strategic leadership to all staff and volunteers whilst building a strong collaborative team culture to meet the current and future organisational needs. This is a key role that actively promotes diversity and inclusivity in the workplace whilst working to ensure a safe work environment for staff, volunteers and contractors by ensuring sound WHS policies and practices and driving positive safety and wellbeing outcomes. The General Manager People, Safety & Culture will lead the Human Resources function for Cancer Council SA, including industrial relations, payroll, workforce planning, organisational development and retention strategies. This role will have a strong focus on the development of volunteer management, overseeing the recruitment, training and retention strategies for volunteers of the organisation. Other key responsibilities will include actively contributing to Board meetings, serving as the Executive Lead for the Nomination, Remuneration and Governance sub-committee and collaborating on a Federation level to drive organisational outcomes.Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Cancer Council SA is seeking a collaborative leader with demonstrated experience in human resources, safety functions and volunteer management. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication, advanced problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate must be commercially astute with strong business analytical skills, possess experience in driving organisational culture and be highly resilient with an ability to manage a professional multi-disciplinary team.
