THE COMPANY YOU WOULD BE JOINING This global pharmaceutical company supports clinicians, hospitals and the pharma industry to provide access to medicines that are not readily available. They have strong partnerships with biotech organisations, manufacturers and suppliers around the world. The pharmaceutical products they provide include both specialist registered pharmaceuticals and those that are unregistered to meet unmet clinical needs. Diverse therapeutic areas such as anaesthetics, oncology, rheumatology, neurology & psychiatry. WHAT YOU WILL MANAGE & GROW This General Manager – Australia position (based in Sydney ONLY), will be responsible for leading the Australian team. You will look for growth and transform the business from a revenue and people perspective. You will assign local resources to business priorities and place appropriate resources and talent associated needed for go-to-market models. You will own customer strategy and commercial terms for customers in Australia supporting your direct reports to grow market share through strategic planning and innovative ideas, setting the vision for each business unit in collaboration with your senior leaders. You will support your team with new product sales and new customer acquisitions. With a focus on sales, you will also work closely with marketing, regulatory, quality, operations, supply chain, logistics, compliance and other functions that enable you and your team to grow and meet all key deliverables. This role requires someone who is a creative, big-picture thinker who can inspire others to reach new heights in the execution of sales and marketing, leveraging stakeholders to assess and innovate to challenge the status quo on where Australia is going with prescription & OTC medicines. WHAT EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WILL YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB? Full Australian working rights, with at least 10 years working in Australia in the pharmaceutical industry in both Rx & OTC. You will have Rx experience in both primary & specialty care. OTC experience must cover exposure to product launches and an understanding of the pharmacy channel. Experience in rare diseases and early access/registered but not reimbursed/unlicensed/special access scheme products will be favourably considered. Knowledge/exposure or at least an understanding of the nuances of private equity would be advantageous and you will not come from only big pharma. You will be detailed but also strategic, you can see the bigger picture and are ‘polished’ and professional. You will have proven experience in creating an entrepreneurial culture and it’s imperative you can demonstrate growing and transforming a business through entrepreneurial leadership. You will be a strong, supportive, collaborative leader, with exceptional people skills to take care of your team for their development, and the development of the people that report to them.
