General Manager Procurement and Supply Chain - Manufacturing The Australian owned EGR group is a market innovator and leader in manufacturing since 1973. As a truly vertically integrated business with in-house industrial design, product development, sheet extrusion and manufacture across a variety of materials and processes, the EGR group continues to be a dominant leader in automotive, point of purchase, industrial, infrastructure, and plastic sheet extrusion. ABOUT THE ROLE EGR is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to take up the position of General Manager Supply Chain at based in our facilities in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. You will be working within the Senior Management Team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for the procurement of goods and services for the company's operations, optimising price, quality and reliability of supply, including managing the slow and obsolete inventory. This is a hands-on position, you will lead the highly capable purchasing, logistics and warehousing teams and support them through continuous improvement and efficiencies with the day-to-day functions of the department. RESPONSIBILITIES: Overall management of the purchasing activities for the Automotive division, in both Australia and in our global locations, in addition to the management of the logistics, supply chain and warehousing for EGR Automotive. Negotiate price and terms for goods and services required by EGR to give the most profitable outcome. This will take into account price, quality, service and payment terms. Manage supplier performance to deliver a reliable cost effective source of supply. Identify new suppliers, products and services of benefit to EGR and bring to the attention of relevant EGR personnel. Act as the lead in major supplier negotiations. Provide support and guidance to the purchasing team to prioritise and complete their tasks to the best of their abilities whilst also enabling them to develop their skills. Liaise with customers and suppliers to communicate supply chain issues and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Act as the subject matter expert within the organisation on international trade and logistics. Maintain close working relationship with all EGR Departments on purchasing requirements with particular focus given to working with the Product Development Department. Analyse and implement the most effective supply chain path for new products and suppliers, taking into account our global entities strengths, potential administrative burden and total cost of ownership. Communicate throughout the organisation where applicable to ensure adherence to the path set. Manage inventory levels to optimise the balance between customer service and working capital costs. Ensure the MRP system reflects inventory and ordering policies and coordinate the demand planning process. Implement improvement strategies and effectively manage the function of slow and obsolete inventory. Lead and develop a cross functional team to achieve their full potential. About you You will have a qualification in procurement, logistics, finance or similar. You will have at least 5 years leadership and management experience in a similar role. You may have previous manufacturing experience in a similar role. You have built strong relationships across global businesses. You have excellent negotiation skills. You have excellent knowledge of international trade and logistics. You have the ability to display exceptional judgement to problem solve and provide commercial solutions. You are passionate about business improvement. You have excellent communication skills. You have the ability to balance competing priorities and thrive in a busy environment due to your strong sense of urgency and drive.
