We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our Civil & Infrastructure team in Queensland. About the Role This pivotal role will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, and financial success of our Queensland operations. You will work closely with the Executive General Manager - Civil & Infrastructure to drive business growth, foster client relationships and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects. What you will do Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams: Cultivate a high-performance culture that prioritises safety, innovation and collaboration. Provide strong leadership, mentoring and coaching to empower and develop team members. Oversee the recruitment, development and performance management of all team members. Drive Sustainable Business Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Queensland market. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Actively represent McMahon Services at industry events and conferences to enhance our market presence. Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee the successful planning, execution and delivery of all Civil & Infrastructure projects within budget and schedule. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operational processes and enhance efficiency. Ensure strict adherence to all relevant safety, quality and environmental standards. Develop and manage budgets for the Queensland operations, ensuring financial targets are met. Monitor project profitability closely and identify opportunities for cost optimisation. Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial performance to key stakeholders. Lead Strategic Direction: Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall strategic direction for the Civil & Infrastructure business in Queensland. Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify new opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions. What you will bring Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable. Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on Civil & Infrastructure projects. Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing teams. Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and resources effectively. Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills. Advanced knowledge of WHS and environmental regulations.
