The Role Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the General Manager, Risk is a critical role within the Risk, Governance and Legal leadership team. You will lead the Risk team to drive a risk-mature culture across the Enterprise. You will lead a team of Risk professionals to develop, maintain and oversee the risk management framework and activities that support the business to achieve its strategic objectives. You will be a partner and collaborate closely with all business units to provide the necessary advice on identification, assessment, management and monitoring of any potential risks, especially in periods of significant growth and change whilst we continue to deliver large enterprise-wide change projects. As part of the extended leadership team, you will also be responsible for frequent engagement with our Executive team and our Board to present and report on various risk reviews, metrics and reporting insights. What you will bring As a people leader, you are highly passionate about leading, managing and mentoring your team to continually build upon their professional and personal growth. An experienced Risk professional, you possess a minimum of 15+ years of experience (with a minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in a senior leadership role) in a similar capacity within the financial services and/or insurance sector. Your in-depth and practical knowledge of risk management, coupled with your pragmatism will allow you to apply the Risk Management Framework in a large and complex environment as we navigate through various enterprise-wide projects with a high degree of change management involved. Lastly, you possess outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal), that will enable you to engage and build relationships with different stakeholders across all levels (including Senior Executives and Board members) to drive meaningful decision-making.
