About Us: Stride is the largest provider of headspace centres in Australia and are leaders in mental health service delivery, specialising in working with adults and young people, and in early childhood intervention. Stride is the lead agency for headspace Woolloongabba and Nundah. Our Service: headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation and delivers high quality evidence-based clinical care to achieve better health outcomes for young people aged 12-25 years. Our multidisciplinary team supports young people by providing support for mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug use, and getting into work and study. headspace offers a number of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing treatments that range from low intensity brief interventions through to high intensity long-term interventions. Role Overview: headspace is seeking a youth-friendly GP to be based at either of their Woolloongabba or Nundah headspace centres. This role could suit you if you are: Interested in developing your experience in youth health/mental health; Taking on additional hours, or moving away from full-time hours (perhaps as you transition to retirement); Just keen to support your community and help to make an impact on young lives. Working as a headspace GP, you will provide an opportunity for young people to access youth-friendly medical services early as part of a collaborative and holistic model of care, ensuring better pathways to health and wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to provide holistic care across a wide range of physical, mental, and sexual health issues, including preventative healthcare, early identification/diagnosis/treatment, and provision of Mental Health Treatment Plans and referral as appropriate. On Offer: Based at either of headspace Woolloongabba or headspace Nundah with full flexibility of working hours/days to fit your schedule (ideally, 1 day per week). Access to professional training and skills development and the opportunity to collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced youth healthcare experts, which may include psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, and mental health and/or nurse practitioners. Onsite clinical support as needed, including clinical supervision from the Clinical Manager and access to full reception and administrative support at the headspace centre. Requirements: Hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Be covered with current Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance. Eligibility to provide services under Medicare and a willingness to Bulk Bill. Have completed a minimum Level 1 in Mental Health Skills Training. Eligible to apply for/currently hold a Blue Card.
