About The Role: Join Geochempet Services as a full-time, permanent Geologist / Petrographer and become a vital member of our dynamic team. This engaging role focuses on laboratory-based Geology and Petrographic work, located in Clontarf, north of Brisbane. Responsibilities: Petrographic examination on a variety of samples for both geological and engineering applications Preparation of specialist reports including quarry assessments and interpretive reports Maintaining databases, liaise with clients Writing and reviewing of petrographic reports to Australian Standards Quality assurance/quality control of thin section and concrete slab manufacturing Assist with overseeing laboratory technicians Assist with ad hoc quarry site visits and assessments About You: Tertiary qualification in Geology / Geoscience Geology / Petrology experience - We're open to experience levels Understanding of petrographic principles, whether recently acquired or from earlier university studies, is highly valued. Excellent communication skills both oral and written Geochemical experience desirable Experience with X-ray Diffraction, X-ray Fluorescence, and Scanning Electron Microscopy is desirable but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn and grow in these areas.
