About the role An exciting opportunity in our Corporate Affairs team has become available for a Government & Industry Relations Manager. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance Coles’ relationship and reputation with local, state and federal governments and industry stakeholders. This role also involves advocating for Coles’ interests, and monitoring and shaping policy developments in collaboration with key stakeholders and peak bodies. Applications close 18th March. You’ll also: Develop and execute strategies to influence public policy and legislative outcomes in alignment with Coles’ goals. Represent Coles at Parliamentary hearing and in meetings with Ministers, MPs and their staff, government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with key Ministers, MPs and their staff, government agencies, and industry groups. Maintain awareness and advise of political developments that may impact Coles. Prepare briefs, reports, and position papers to inform senior management and guide decision-making. Establish and maintain effective governance practices across areas of responsibility. Lead a strong governance and compliance culture amongst team. About you and your skills Extensive experience in government, government relations, public affairs, or a related field. Strong understanding of Australian government processes and legislative procedures. Proven ability to develop and implement successful advocacy strategies in collaboration with stakeholders. Experience appearing before Parliamentary Committees. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to foster long lasting relationships. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. High level of political acumen and understanding of public policy issues. Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Commerce, Economics or a related field. What’s in it for you?
