Position Summary: Grade 3 Senior Occupational Therapist – Sandringham Hospital, is a key member of the Occupational Therapist leadership team. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy department as a senior clinician and stream leader within the General Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Emergency Department stream. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with the Grade 3 Occupational Therapy Stream Leader of the General Medicine stream at The Alfred, to enhance workflow processes for general medicine patients across both sites, and develop the clinical practice of individuals and the wider teams. An important part of this senior role is that the occupational therapy clinician will have the opportunity to lead various teaching/training and quality improvement activities across the Occupational Therapy Service, Allied Health directorate, and clinical program, and will represent Allied Health on allocated committees. Key Skills/Experience Advanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills in general medicine and surgical diagnostic groups, as well as evidence-based practice in care of delirium and dementia, falls, and pressure care. Stream leadership experience and provision of supervision to occupational therapy staff, allied health assistants, and occupational therapy students. A strong commitment to ongoing learning and development. Understanding of quality improvement/research frameworks and research translation skills. Flexibility and adaptability in both clinical service provision and interactions with the team. The ability to work effectively as an Allied Health Professional by demonstrating an ability to work within and across teams. Qualifications Required B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognized equivalent. Postgraduate qualification (Masters level) in one of Occupational Therapy, Public Health, Research, and/or Health Management or working towards the same. Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA). Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership).
