Job Description: Fitzroy location Senior leadership opportunity Full time, Long Service Leave backfill until July 2026 (with potential ongoing opportunity) About the Role As a senior clinician and modality supervisor, this position is responsible for the service delivery, management and education areas of expertise within the MRI Department of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. This position will supervise a team of Medical Imaging Technologists, work collaboratively with other disciplines and the Medical Imaging Executive team, demonstrating leadership, specialist knowledge and experience. Fulfill clinical duties through performing a diverse range of routine and complex MRI examinations to a high diagnostic standard, with a level of independence and expertise of a senior clinician. Demonstrate an extensive level of technical ability, knowledge and experience within all areas of MRI, including advanced techniques. Supervise an area of the department, demonstrating leadership and a focus on education and development. Manage the daily operations of the MRI department and responsibly for the efficient operation of the service. Provide clinical supervision and training to staff, trainees and students. Responsibility for the administrative processes and documentation within MRI, ensuring an efficient and safe service. Classifications for this position will range from Medical Imaging Technologist Grade 4 AF31 - AF34 ($123,609 - $136,203 per annum pro rata). Your Contribution Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation or equivalent. National registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist. Post-graduate qualification in MRI. Demonstrated extensive or advanced clinical competency, knowledge and experience in MRI. A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History check, or willing to obtain. The MRI Department is located within the Fitzroy precinct and consists of three Magnetic Resonance Imaging machines. The department provides a comprehensive MRI service to inpatients and outpatients of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, St Vincent’s Private Hospital and Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, including complex and specialised scans.
