About the Pharmacy Department: The Pharmacy Department operates across five campuses and aims to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care to our patients with a focus on research, medication safety, and clinical excellence. The department comprises over 100 pharmacists and 30 technicians, emphasizing workforce culture and professional development. About the role: A full-time opportunity exists for a Grade 4 Pharmacy Technician Team Leader – Operations at Northern Health. This role requires work over 10 days (80 hours) per fortnight, Monday to Friday, at the Northern Hospital, with potential to work at other sites as needed. This role requires a minimum of 3 years full-time experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician and a Certificate IV in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent qualification (as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Victoria) or the intention to attain this certificate within 18 months of commencing employment. This role is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of technicians across the Northern Health Pharmacy Department, including the provision of efficient and effective supply, storage, and distribution of all authorized pharmaceuticals and supplies in line with the hospital's current Poisons Control Plan. To be successful in this role you will have: A minimum of 3 years full-time experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician. Certificate IV in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent qualification, or the intention to attain this certificate within 18 months of starting. Experience and good working knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations. Proven ability to supervise, manage, and develop staff including Pharmacy Technicians. Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills. Well-developed self-management skills including the ability to meet timelines and prioritize competing demands.
