If you share our values and want to kick-start your career with an organisation that makes a difference, read on!In this role your time will be spent on the financial management of various projects within a wide range of research areas. Working with a team of dedicated professionals, you will be mentored to develop skills in building & managing key relationships, best practice financial processes, and the provision of financial advice in a research environment.No two days will be the same in this varied role but typically your day-to-day tasks will include: Ensure new projects are set up, and completed projects are closed off in a timely manner and that appropriate supporting documentation is on file. Regularly meeting with researchers to review projects and ensure they are tracking correctly against budget, and that system data accurately reflects progress to date. Preparing journals for internal transfers of expenditure and service charges between projects, to ensure financial data is kept up to date. Preparation of financial acquittals, and other financial reports for all research grants within the portfolio. Upskilling and educating researchers in best practice financial management. About You The ideal applicant will have a Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a relevant discipline. Minimum 12 months experience in accounting or finance with responsibility for supporting and enabling organisational project accounting, systems, processes, and improvements.Along with this, the successful applicant will also be able to meet the following requirements:Excellent project planning, coordination, and evaluation skills. Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong computer, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. High level of attention to detail is essential (including accurate data entry skills). Experience at working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Very good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proven ability to work as part of a high-performing team. Proven ability to work responsibly and appropriately with highly confidential information.
