About the role In this newly created role, based out of Newcastle, you will support the contract growing team responsible for the overall success of our egg production operations in the Northern region of NSW. You'll learn all aspects of the flock, from day-old chicks to laying hens, vaccination processes from start to finish, ensuring the flocks health, well-being, and optimal egg production is always achieved. As a key member of the team, you’ll contribute to delivering effective production management initiatives for NSW. You’ll ensure that the highest industry standards for governance and compliance are upheld, maintaining productive and efficient farm operations. Successful cross-collaboration between key stakeholders across various farm locations is of utmost importance. Your role in this regard is to assume a training position, learning the key aspects of poultry farming, you will be guided by the leadership Team that call Pace Farm home and have done for many decades. The team will guide you through 'Best Practice' farm management and continuous improvement initiatives, providing you with a solid foundation in poultry farming. What you’ll do Learn, implement, educate, train, and inspire Best Practice production principles across our Northern NSW farms. Gain knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies. Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies related to egg production. Learn, develop and maintain food safety, product quality, biosecurity, animal welfare, and OHS policies and procedures in line with Pace Farm's systems of work. Co-manage vaccine and consumables stock at the Newcastle Depot. Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures, including HACCP, WH&S, and Biosecurity. About You Are you passionate about livestock and looking to grow your career in agriculture? We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree in agriculture or 2-3 years of farm management experience, who thrives in both independent and team environments. You’re detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about animal welfare. You can adapt to changing environments, solve problems, and communicate effectively. You’re also contactable 24/7 for emergencies and hold a valid driver’s licence, with a forklift licence preferred. What We’re Looking For Relevant agricultural degree (e.g., veterinary science, animal science, nutrition, or similar) or 2-3 years of management experience in farming operations. Full Australian work rights (no sponsorship available). Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with good communication skills. Must be available and contactable 24/7 in case of emergencies. Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and email; forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
