Job Description

Grid Engineering Manager - Client Facing Are you passionate about continuing to develop your career in the Wind Energy sector? Are you looking to be part of a dynamic and positive team environment? Would you like to build a profile with visibility of your results within the business? If these questions resonate with you, and you are a motivated individual, then this role is an exceptional career opportunity. My client is a well-established European based OEM who is a leader in the industry, known for engineering excellence, quality, reliability, and service. They are on an exciting and rapid expansion trajectory in the Australian market, driven by strong demand for their technical platform. They have attracted a team of high-performing professionals, all with a simple mandate: grow this business! They have created an environment where every team member has the opportunity to develop their own career path through individual contribution, as well as being an integral part of the team. This is not the “normal” Grid Engineering role; we are looking for a dedicated client-facing Grid Engineering Manager who is comfortable presenting significant grid modelling capabilities to clients, utilising and applying technical knowledge to discuss specific topics in detail with technical teams, consultants, and the internal grid engineering team locally and in Europe. You will be an experienced and respected Grid Engineer looking for your next career step, with experience gained on large-scale renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities: Power System Modeling: Helping the client's grid team and consultants during the sales phase to prepare PSSE/PSCAD NEM/WEM snapshots for grid connection studies, and working with the in-house team to conduct modelling for R0 and R1 phases. Site Prospecting: Assisting the client in identifying wind farm sites by performing PSS/E simulations, reviewing NSP reports, and analysing AEMO’s Integrated System Plan. Connection Agreements: Assisting the client’s team in negotiating transmission connection agreements, including scope reviews and technical terms. Grid Connection Tools: Participating in brainstorming sessions to develop power system modelling and automation tools for R0, R1, and R2 studies. Regulatory Approvals: Supporting efforts to achieve 5.3.4A/B approval, Offer to Connect execution, and AEMO registration. GPS and Test Plans: Assisting in developing GPS compliance assessments and R2 model validation test plans in collaboration with EPCs, OEMs, NSPs, and AEMO. Hold Point Testing: Providing RUG parameters, conducting simulations, supporting risk assessments, and compiling hold point testing reports for NSP and AEMO submissions. Success will be propelled by your effective communication abilities, developing strong relationships, and a demonstrated ability to engage with clients and consultants effectively. Working with internal stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive review of client requirements in line with designated timelines will be critical. You will be driven by a strong attention to detail, organised and analytical, enabling you to make sound, well-founded decisions. You will be a qualified Electrical Engineer, with Post Graduate qualifications in Power Systems/Electrical Engineering well regarded. PSSE/PSCAD experience with a solid understanding of the grid connection process gained over a minimum of 5 years in the sector is essential. As this is a Global organisation with centralised functions based in Europe, occasional travel will be expected to establish ongoing close working partnerships with all relevant stakeholders. If this exciting opportunity has you interested and you are motivated by the career potential it offers, please apply here, enclosing a Cover Letter and current Resume.
