Job Description

Responsible for the development and management of the Airnorth Ground Operations Training and competency frameworks, which encompasses customer service and ramp operations. Supervise the Ground Operations Training and Standards team that implements airport procedures and initial to recurrent training packages to ensure airport operations are conducted in a safe, efficient, compliant and customer-focused manner. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in a Supervisory and training role Previous Airline experience in an operational role Ability to determine Training Needs Analysis and Training Evaluation requirements Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Skill and flair to design ground operations training courses Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines Provide clear and concise direction at all times High level of accuracy Computer literacy (MS Office, airline systems and training software) Excellent interpersonal skills Certificate IV Training and Assessment or higher PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure Airnorth ground operations procedures and policies conform to all legal, safety and regulatory requirements Responsible for delivery of high-quality training packages covering Ramp Operations and Customer Service activities in the most efficient and cost-effective manner In conjunction with the Head of Airline Operations, Manager Network Operations and Manager Ground Operations, monitor daily operations to recognize deficiencies or procedural lapses identifying the need for training or re-evaluation of current procedures Formulate and deliver appropriate training policies to meet the needs of the company in respect to airport activities Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the Ground Operations department by reviewing and/or introducing new procedures Maintain the Ground Operations manual suite Construct and publish training material as required Produce and maintain an audit schedule to ensure all airports are visited on a regular basis to evaluate performance, provide feedback and promote positive interaction between Ground Handling Service Providers and Airnorth. Investigate and recommend training for all Ground Operations staff to improve overall skill levels with due regard to financial and operational impact. In conjunction with Ground Handling Service Providers ensure that staff working Airnorth services are fully qualified and meet the expected standards of Airnorth. Produce monthly reports detailing achieved training activity for the month and upcoming projects Provide leadership and direction in support of the company Safety Management System and Target Zero, and actively seek to assess, identify and manage health and safety hazards, potential hazards and risks. Ensure policies and procedures where Airnorth is the contractor are adhered to in accordance with the relevant contractual requirements.
