Group Manager - Procurement & Supply Chain Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane. The Group Manager – Procurement & Supply Chain is responsible for a team of 30 people across sites located in Brisbane and Papua New Guinea. This pivotal role manages the process of procurement, contract development, tendering, recording and evaluation for Harmony Australasia whilst ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company general, Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures. This role is Brisbane-based with regular travel to Papua New Guinea as and when required. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the key responsibilities of this role include: Build, develop, coach and lead a team of procurement professionals, focused on leading business strategy and delivering value across a range of business dimensions. Develop, implement, monitor, analyse, evaluate and share commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, stakeholder requirements and supply/demand challenges. Design, develop, implement and manage product/service strategies and perform opportunity analysis to identify sourcing and continuous improvement projects that will deliver significant total cost of ownership savings, value improvement and reduced risk encompassing all facets of the supply chain. Design, develop, implement and manage spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, make vs. buy analyses, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, cycle time improvements, security of supply, supplier diversity, continuous improvement and procurement/stakeholder collaboration. Design, develop, implement and manage strategic business relationships and develop a comprehensive understanding of Harmony's business requirements. Manage the overall performance and membership of the supplier network especially focusing on key business partnerships with Landowner Groups and other key suppliers. Provide functional guidance for all project major contracts over $1M AUD and also any operations requirements extending beyond the project phase. About You : To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated and able to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment holding the following qualifications and experience: Degree qualification in procurement, supply chain, business or equivalent. Extensive experience in a Procurement and Supply Chain leadership role with a medium to large complex organisation. Offshore Supply Chain experience in Papua New Guinea or a similar developing country. Broad and general business acumen, incorporating extensive experience working with and/or across multiple business functions and disciplines. Highly developed understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks including contract and Customs laws. Extensive experience in preparing and delivering presentations, reports and analysis findings to executives and senior management.
