About the Opportunity SSI Corporate is currently looking to hire a HR Generalist for a temporary 14-15 month Maternity Leave placement with our HR department in Victoria, BC. The HR Generalist will be a supporting role on a team of 4 and assist with answering employee questions about human resources policies and procedures, as well as facilitating HR processes with regard to performance development, reward and recognition, recruiting, training, and compensation. As the HR Generalist, you will: Uphold and demonstrate the values of the organization in all business activities Support the COO in all areas of HR as assigned Share responsibility for onboarding and offboarding procedures for all SSI Companies Assist with managing the employee performance development process and compile and distribute results Assist with monitoring and responding to emails in the HR email box Assist with writing and posting all job openings and managing the hiring queue Schedule interviews and assist with the interview process Complete reference checks for new applicants Assist with the employee survey process for all SSI offices Ensure consistent communication with all employees regarding all HR initiatives, policies, and procedures Share responsibility for ensuring all attendance records are maintained Assist with writing and updating HR policies and procedures Assist with compiling reports, letters, and memos on an as-requested basis Share responsibility for ensuring the HR database is updated and maintained for all SSI offices Assist with managing the employment anniversary recognition process Share responsibility in maintaining all HR filing systems Maintain a thorough knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, database applications, and other software tools Qualifications: HR Generalist Diploma or a minimum of 3 years equivalent work experience Minimum of 1 year experience working in an HR supporting role Knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, database applications, and other software tools Exceptional time management and organizational skills Strong written and oral business communications skills Please note: The successful candidate must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and be willing to work in the SSI office in Victoria, BC. This position is eligible for some remote work.
