Job Description

ECG Engineering are leaders in the Electrical Engineering space, delivering design and project delivery services to the Mining, Utilities, Materials Handling and Industrial sectors with extensive and proven capabilities in Australia, and around the world. With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Manila & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania , ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years. We require an HR Manager to manage and coordinate HR across the business. Our team is primarily tertiary qualified Electrical Engineers, with HR supporting a white collar workforce and workload. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, the HR Manager is a generalist role where you are able to utilise your HR experience in a variety of areas including employee relations, performance appraisal, training programs and workforce planning. Our specialized white-collar workforce sees limited Industrial Relations in the role, however we do require exposure to technical environment as ECG’s Electrical Engineering workforce, and requirements are highly specialized. ECG has some very technical people. Key functions of the role: Assess and interpret employee contractual terms and conditions including rate and rosters Provide guidance on HR and ER related matters Manage employee records and processes Co ordinate all aspects of HR policy and process improvements Assess training requirements to apply and monitor training programs Support end to end recruitment and onboarding Maintain and build ECG’s recruitment database Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management Nurture / maintain a positive working environment About you To be considered for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate: Ideally Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources or a related field At least 6 years’ experience in a generalist HR Advisor capacity, + management experience, preferably with some experience within the mining, resources or manufacturing sector Strong communication skills (oral and written) and the confidence to work with all business levels Effective problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills and hands on can-do attitude Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure with conflicting priorities Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word) and experience with HR information systems and tools Able to work as part of a team and build inter-team effectiveness Initiative, ownership, integrity and confidence.
