Silverstrand is seeking a HSE Manager to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based on our various projects and within our Brisbane Head Office and employed on a permanent basis. About the role: Reporting to the Construction Manager, your duties will include: Lead the current HSE team Lead key company audits and ensure overall compliance Ensuring construction sites comply with all current legislation and codes of practice Training and mentoring the existing HSE team and project team Preparation of SWMS and JHA’s Conducting risk assessments for projects and company Experienced in AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems Completion of onsite audits and inspections Completion of management plans Organising site safety meetings Develop and establish forward thinking HSE processes to ensure future projects are always ahead Preparation of reports for management Management and reporting of incidents Management of overall company HSE, and Management of safety systems Essential Skills and Experience: Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Construction Health and Safety Sector Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum) Current First aid certificate Knowledge of current HSE legislation, acts, code of practice and regulations Strong ability to manage time effectively and comply with all internal and external deadlines Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Proficient computer skills across the Microsoft package High level of attention to detail and the ability to problem solve Positive attitude and approachable demeanor What’s on offer: Competitive salary based on the successful candidate’s experience A permanent position with a growing civil construction company A mixture of office and site-based work Work Vehicle About Us: Silverstrand is a privately owned and operated contractor operating across Australasia since 2008, providing quality delivery in all areas of both civil and structural construction works in metro, regional and remote areas.
