This role is aimed at HSEQ Officers who come from a construction background with practical hands-on experience in the field. Getting our people home safely to their families every day is our top priority, and your role is vital in influencing Project Managers to achieve health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) excellence. You will be a natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills and strong technical expertise. Responsibilities: Steer the development and implementation of HSEQ standards that align with compliance and due diligence requirements Undertake site inspections, toolbox talks, risk assessments, SWMS, JSA’s and WHS documentation maintenance Work closely with senior management to prepare reports Motivate and educate Jaytex employees to champion best practice use of our systems Develop work method statements, project plans, and inspection and test plans Implement system changes and improvements to demonstrate continuous improvement. Ability to travel as and when required from project to project in the SA region Qualifications: Minimum Cert IV in OH&S 5+ years' experience in a Health & Safety role working for a head contractor Experience working on commercial projects Strong understanding of latest OH&S legislation Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines Excellent communication & problem-solving skills Intermediate knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice Intermediate knowledge of ISO and OFSC management systems, Audit criteria, and Building Codes What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package, including laptop, phone allowance, and company vehicle 5 Flexi leave days in addition to regular Annual Leave Flexible working hours to help balance work and remaining study Regular staff socials High-performing, close-knit team with a great core set of values which we live & breathe!
