Head Of Department - Gin Gin State High School JOB DESCRIPTION Gin Gin State High School is seeking to fill the position of Head of Department (Secondary) (HPE/Arts/Hospitality/Instrumental Music) on a temporary full-time basis, starting as soon as possible until 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.The role covers several subject areas as well as sport and music. Applicants should have strong curriculum development skills as subject areas move to version 9. Interpersonal skills are essential, as forming strong community links is a vital part of the role. HPE is the largest subject area to manage; however, experience in managing or teaching the other subject areas will also be considered favorable. About the Role: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The development and delivery of junior curriculum to a high standard which aligns to V9; Oversight of senior subjects within the subject areas; Managing staff to ensure curriculum is delivered to a high standard; Managing budgets across several subject areas; Leading strategic initiatives and modelling best practice strategies to staff. About You: Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Must have proven competence in one or more of the subjects in the faculty; Must have very good interpersonal skills; Must have an ability to lead curriculum development in a range of subject areas; Must have strong behaviour management skills; Experience in ESCM and Profiling would be nice to have; Experience in running whole school events would be nice to have.
